Wellbeing for Learning

Here at St Mary’s, we believe in Wellbeing for Learning and view wellbeing as being at the heart of education. We believe that all children and adults can learn the skills of wellbeing and our children at St Mary’s are taught the tools to cope with the demands of a busy life; learning the knowledge and skills to manage failure and build resilience, confidence and optimism.

Powerful learning is interconnected with wellness, resilience, and connection to the world. ‘Being well’ contributes not only to physical, mental, and emotional health but also to learning, success and fulfilment. And learning well contributes to success and to feelings of curiosity, excitement, purpose, and satisfaction. Although we often talk about our children’s learning and wellbeing separately, they really are two sides of the same coin.
