About me: I live on a family farm on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River, 60km west of Hay with my husband and four children. Whenever there’s sheep work on, it’s all hands on deck and we love it. I enjoy spending time with my kids baking and I’ll have a go at anything creative; sewing, painting, drawing. Reading is how I relax. My favourite book would have to be The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, which I read through Book Club.

My father was a bank manager and we moved around a fair bit when I was a child. Throughout their lives, my parents were actively involved in the numerous communities where we lived. They taught me that you get out what you put in, and I have used this philosophy in all the towns where I have lived and taught: Darwin, Moree, Cowra and now Hay. There are so many opportunities in Hay to be involved and contribute to this fantastic community. Early childhood education and sustaining connections in the community are a couple of areas I believe are important for a positive future for our children.

From 2007 to 2009 I worked at St Mary’s as the 5/6 teacher. Three years ago I returned to teaching following 10 years of raising little people. I have thoroughly enjoyed the benefits technology has brought into the world of education and have found the basis of education remains the same, guide and support each child to grow their potential and work towards their dreams.

I love being a teacher and parent at St Mary’s and love that my children are part of the St Mary’s School family. I know from behind the scenes that every staff member truly knows and values each child in our St Mary’s family.
